Meet Dr. Vijay Dalapathi

Dr. Vijay Dalapathi earned his bachelor degree in biology from Indiana University–Bloomington. After spending more than a year conducting clinical research at the University of Chicago, he attended St. George’s University School of Medicine, where he graduated with honors.

Dr. Dalapathi then completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Mount Sinai St. Luke’s West Hospital in New York City. As a resident, he was a prolific researcher and received an excellence in research award. He also received the Fellows-in-Training award for outcomes-based research by the American College of Gastroenterology. He subsequently completed his fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology from the University of Rochester Medical Center. As a fellow, he was awarded the Young Investigator Award by the American Gastroenterological Association for his research at a national conference. He is also published in recognized medical journals and has presented his work at multiple national meetings.

Dr. Dalapathi has clinical expertise in all aspects of general gastroenterology and liver disease. He has a particular interest in gastrointestinal bleeding, eosinophilic esophagitis, inflammatory bowel disease, and colon cancer screening and prevention. He is very passionate about patient education and shared decision-making, always striving to ensure that his patients are informed and engaged in their medical care.

In his spare time, he enjoys hiking, running, and watching football. Besides English, he is fluent in Hindi and Telugu.
