Meet Dr. Daniel Emmett

Dr. Daniel Emmett is a board-certified gastroenterologist known for his commitment to patient-centered care and expertise in treating complex gastrointestinal and liver conditions.  He has a special interest in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), colon cancer prevention, and celiac disease. He believes in building strong partnerships with his patients by working collaboratively to create personalized treatment plans that meet their unique needs and lifestyle.
Dr. Emmett‘s clinical expertise is complemented by his advanced skills in therapeutic endoscopy. In addition to esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) and colonoscopy, Dr. Emmett is trained to perform complex procedures such as endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) and single balloon small bowel enteroscopy (SBE).
Dr. Emmett graduated from the University of Texas at Austin before earning his medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston. He then completed his internal medicine residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and his gastroenterology fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
Dr. Emmett‘s interests outside of work include live music, cheering for the Longhorns, and spending time with his family. He joined Austin Gastroenterology in 2009 and is passionate about serving the community he calls home.
