Meet Rose Beer

Rose Beer joined Austin Gastro in April 2017. She received a bachelor in nursing in 2006 and master degree/nurse practitioner certification in 2015 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio.

Rose started her NP career working with the geriatric population at a nursing home, then moved to internal medicine at South Austin Medical Center. Prior to becoming an NP, Rose explored many different fields in nursing, such as interventional radiology, trauma, medical-surgical and critical care.
As part of the Austin Gastro group, Rose works as a weekend hospitalist at South Austin Medical Center in partnership with all the physicians at the AG south location. Rose takes calls from outpatient and inpatient settings from Friday evening to Monday morning. She is proud to be part of such an amazing group of dedicated GI specialists.
Rose is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center and licensed by the Texas Board of Nursing.

Prior to her career in nursing, Rose was a literature and Portuguese teacher in Recife, Brazil, her hometown. She enjoys free-style cooking, music, salsa and samba dancing, hiking, running, traveling, playing with her son, and taking care of all her animals.
