Shannon Ruth joined Austin Gastroenterology in October 2007 and quickly became an integral part of the team providing high quality patient care at our Central Offices.  Shannon received a Bachelors degree in Exercise Physiology from the University of California at Davis in Exercise Physiology in 1993 and a Masters Degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder. In 1999 Shannon earned a Masters of Physician Assistant Studies at Samuel Merrit College in Oakland, California and began practice as a PA in a family practice setting for several years.  Shannon and her family eventually relocated to Europe in association with her husband’s employment.  Upon returning to the U.S., Shannon who is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and is licensed by the Texas State Board of Physician Assistant Examiners, resumed her PA practice with Austin Gastroenterology.  Shannon’s professional memberships include the American Association of Physician Assistants and the Central Texas Society of Physician Assistants.
