| Dr. Willeford attended medical school at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Branch in Dallas where he was a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. His internship and residency were completed at Parkland Memorial Hospital and the Dallas Veterans Administration Hospital. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He holds memberships in the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association and the American College of Physicians. He is a Fellow of the American College of Gastroenterology and has held several appointments and positions including Secretary-Treasurer of the Austin Society of Internal Medicine, Member, Board of Directors, Seton Physicians Hospital Network, Member, Managed Health Care Committee (appointed by then Governor, George W. Bush). He was also on the Board of Directors and was Chief of Internal Medicine at Seton Medical Center, Austin, TX. Dr. Willeford has practiced in Austin since 1980. |
