Dr. Utts obtained his medical degree from the University Of Maryland School Of Medicine in 1977. He completed his internship and residency at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore from 1977 to 1980. His Gastroenterology fellowship was completed at Wilford Hall USAF Medical Center at Lackland AFB, Texas. He served in the military until 1987 when he opened his practice in Austin. He holds board certifications in Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology from the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is a member of numerous organizations including the American College of Physicians, American Gastroenterological Association, American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the Texas Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. He also holds membership in the Texas Medical Association and Travis County Medical Society.
