Certified Gastroenterology

Dr. Long received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed his internal medicine internship and residency at the University of Chicago Hospitals.  He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at the University of California-San Francisco, where he underwent advanced training in diagnostic and therapeutic ERCP.  His training has included research at Oxford University and results of his work have been presented at both national and international meetings.  He has published multiple articles in both internal medicine and gastroenterology journals and has authored a chapter of a major gastroenterology textbook.  Dr. Long has special interests in colon cancer screening, inflammatory bowel disease, hepatobiliary disease, and functional bowel disease.  He is board-certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and is a member of the American College of Gastroenterology, the American Gastroenterological Association, the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, the Texas Medical Association, and the Travis County Medical Society.
