Eduardo Alcocer, M.D.

| Dr. Alcocer earned his medical degree at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara in 1984 and completed his internship and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Texas at Houston in 1992. After three years of practice as an internist, he entered Baylor College of Medicine where he obtained his general Gastroenterology and Hepatology training. Subsequently, Dr. Alcocer received his Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship training at the Gastroenterology Consultants in Milwaukee. He has acquired skills in diagnostic/therapeutic ERCP and endoscopic ultrasound. He is a board certified gastroenterologist who treats all digestive disorders, with a special interest in pancreatic and biliary diseases. In the area of Endoscopic Ultrasound, Dr. Alcocer has been involved in the diagnosis and staging of esophageal, rectal, and pancreatic cancer and sub mucosal tumors. He is skilled in taking biopsies of mediastinal, gastric and pancreatic masses and can perform EUS guided celiac plexus neurolysis. Dr. Alcocer is a member of the American Medical Association, Texas Medical Association, Travis County Medical Society, the American College of Gastroenterology, American Gastroenterological Association, Houston Gastroenterology Association and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy. Dr. Alcocer has practiced in the Austin area since 1998. |
